The City of Victoria is seeking four volunteers to serve on the tourism advisory board, and residents are encouraged to apply by 5 p.m. Nov. 11.
The tourism advisory board is made up of residents who represent various sectors with connections to tourism, along with five non-voting City employees. Volunteer applicants are appointed by the City Council.
The four vacant terms must be filled by representatives of the following sectors:
- Arts
- Attractions
- Downtown businesses
- Food and beverage
The board advises Explore Victoria on the promotion of tourism in Victoria, including advertising and grant administration, as well as the allocation of hotel occupancy tax funds.
The board meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month. The four new terms will begin in December. Board members serve two-year terms.
