First responders, postal workers to play charity basketball game

The Victoria Fire Department and the Victoria Police Department have partnered with National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 1221 (U.S. Postal Service) to play a charity basketball game benefiting the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent and Victoria Toys for Tots

A basketball player prepares to make a shotThe game will be Sunday, Nov. 5, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Victoria College Sports Center, 2200 E. Red River St. Officers and firefighters will team up to play against USPS.

Tickets will be sold for $5 at the door or at www.tfbgc.org. In lieu of the ticket cost, attendees can bring five canned goods or a toy worth at least $5.
