[ARCHIVED] City delivers bottled water, helps with food bank distribution

The City received more than 1,500 cases of water from the Texas Division of Emergency Management’s State Operations Center on Sunday and delivered 1,000 cases that same afternoon to the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent. More than 300 additional cases were delivered Sunday to local apartment complexes, including several from the Victoria Housing Authority, that are still without water due to plumbing issues and water line leaks or breaks.

The water is part of an allocation of more than 1,500 cases the City received from the Texas Division of Emergency Management on Sunday. Within the past week, the City has also delivered about 1,600 cases of water to schools, nonprofits and other community organizations that it had procured through its own efforts.
