Residents can register starting Monday, March 22, for the City of Victoria Parks & Recreation’s summer cornhole and washers leagues.
Residents may register by visiting www.victoriatx.gov/registration or calling Parks & Recreation at 361-485-3200. The registration fee is $60, or $85 after April 23, for a team of two players and an optional alternate. Teams must pay separate registration fees if registering for both cornhole and washers. The final registration deadline is April 28.
Games will be played Wednesday evenings starting May 5 at Aero Crafters, 309 E. Crestwood Drive. The schedule will be announced after registration closes. Participants are guaranteed eight games followed by a tournament for the top four finishers, and the top two winners will receive prizes.
Cornhole bags and washers will be disinfected between games, and hand sanitizer will be provided. Boards will be spaced apart to create physical distance between players. Parks & Recreation staff will be masked, and participants and spectators are likewise encouraged to wear facial coverings when interacting with others.
Parks & Recreation staff plan to host an additional set of summer cornhole and washers leagues in June. Registration for the second set of leagues is expected to open in May.
