The City of Victoria will reopen part of Crestwood Drive on April 8 and reduce another section April 12 as the City enters the second phase of an $11 million reconstruction project in the area.

The City will reopen Crestwood Drive from Ben Jordan Street to Laurent Street at 10 a.m. April 8. This reopening concludes Phase One of the reconstruction project, which began July 22, 2019. Parts of this section of Crestwood Drive were closed or reduced throughout Phase One.

The newly reconstructed road includes concrete pavement, which will be easier to maintain than the former asphalt pavement; rehabilitated utilities; and sidewalks that comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The same upgrades will be made to Crestwood Drive from Laurent Street to Navarro Street during Phase Two of the project. On April 12, the City will close this section of Crestwood Drive to westbound traffic so that improvements can be made. The road will remain eastbound-only for approximately 600 days.

Map: Crestwood will reopen from Ben Jordan to Laurent and close westbound from Laurent to Navarro.

All businesses and homes in the construction zone will remain accessible, and residents are encouraged to support businesses in the work zone. Through traffic can avoid delays by seeking alternate routes.

The third and final phase of the Crestwood Drive project will extend from Navarro Street to Main Street. This phase of the project is currently being designed.
