A new collaboration between the City of Victoria Parks & Recreation and the Victoria Public Library combines two fun, family-friendly activities: reading and enjoying nature.
The new Story Trail Walk allows Riverside Park visitors to experience the children’s book “Hoot Owl: Master of Disguise” as they walk along the nature trail. The story begins at the trail entrance near Riverside Stadium and concludes at the intersection of Red River Street and Bluff Street.

Residents who complete the Story Trail Walk can take a selfie with the book’s title character and upload it to social media. Residents are invited to tag Victoria Public Library and Victoria Parks and Recreation on Facebook or @victoriapubliclibrary and @victoriaparks_rec on Instagram.
Parks & Recreation and library staff plan to update the Story Trail Walk with new stories on a rotating basis, although a schedule has not yet been determined.
