Victoria Police Department Sgt. Jason Martin recently graduated from the Leadership Command College – Class 90 of the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas. To complete the program, candidates must have a minimum of five years with a law enforcement agency; hold a supervisory position for a minimum of two years; and complete 442 credit hours of education, including a research project. The nine-week program covers leadership; administration; and the political, legal, and social environment of law enforcement, and it is designed to provide law enforcement executives with the knowledge and skills necessary for successful leadership in a modern law enforcement agency. Martin has been serving the Victoria community for 16 years, including six years as a sergeant and three years as a detective. He earned his police academy certificate from Delmar College.
