[ARCHIVED] Victoria Fire Department swears in new employees, announces promotions

The new firefighter/EMTs were sworn in during a Nov. 5 ceremony at the Community Center annex. They will now begin a six-month probationary period, during which they will work and operate as Victoria Fire Department employees while receiving additional hands-on training.

Thompson and Frank were promoted to the role of paramedic and Montgomery and Aguirre were promoted to the role of engineer during a Nov. 5 ceremony at the Community Center annex. Paramedics are responsible for providing emergency medical services and hold the highest-level EMS rank within the fire department. Engineers are responsible for driving fire engine and operating equipment at the scene of a fire.
