City Attorney Thomas Gwosdz has been awarded fellowship in the Society for Legal Scholars by the Texas Bar College. The Texas Bar College is a legal society that recognizes and encourages lawyers who maintain and enhance their professional skills and the quality of their service to the public by completing at least double the required hours of continuing legal education each year. This award signifies a decade of commitment to providing the City with the best possible representation through extraordinary educational effort. In the last two years alone, Gwosdz has taught attorneys and city council members at seven conferences around the state on topics that include preparing for disaster management, effectively using procedure rules to manage meetings, creating new legislative programs and responding to state regulations that impact homelessness.
